Difficult Conversations, February 17th

Many of us find ourselves in situations where we need to have a difficult conversation with someone; and rather than have the conversation, we avoid it. This session is designed to provide you with strategies for holding productive conversations that can result in desirable outcomes. You will leave the workshop with an action plan to use specific tools and techniques to handle difficult conversations successfully. Earn 6 PDUs.

Difficult Conversations is a six-hour program to hone your skills.  You will learn more about:

• The dynamics of difficult conversations
• The stake model
• What’s required for difficult conversations?
• Keys to effective difficult conversations
• Planning for a real, difficult conversation

Susan Gerke, a recognized expert in facilitation, consulting, curriculum development and coaching, will lead the Difficult Conversations workshop.  Susan has been in the leadership development business since 1989. She has developed and delivered experiential programs in the areas of group dynamics, management skills, mentoring and facilitation. She has worked with global teams and has certified facilitators around the world to deliver management, leadership, and team-focused offerings.  Susan serves as a Managing Director of the Business World Rising Leadership Vistas program and is an expert business trainer for the BW Rising Institute. Susan has a B.S. degree in Statistics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is a graduate of University Associates Human Resources and Organizational Development Intern program.
